The Mayan peoples of Chiapas, Mexico are not looking for handouts. In fact, on principal theyve chosen to not accept any type of government programs until the peace accords of San Andres are honored.
Yet month after month here in Chiapas we see new schools and medical clinics opening with support from people just like you. Zapatista women and men work everyday growing their own food and producing a wide variety of high quality produces. Zapatista regional centers (caracoles) house civilian indigenous governments that resolve internal conflicts, receive visitors, and administer community health, education, eco-agriculture, and fairer trade efforts.
We hope that you will take a moment to see the exciting variety of gifts available at our online store. Perhaps most importantly, our indigenous hosts have asked us to send you a sincere and heartfelt thanks for your continued support in these hard times. Our Zapatista friends have also just published an important update about their "First World Festival of Dignified Rage."
Por y para los nińos y las nińas,
